Year 10 Work Experience

We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity where students in Year 10 will be able to go out on work experience at the end of the Summer Term. This will take place over five days from Monday, 29th June to Friday, 3rd July 2026. The students will therefore not be in school for the duration of that week.

Work experience offers students a range of transferable skills that will prove useful as they progress through KS4, post-16 destinations and beyond. It will give them valuable experience to add to a CV, provide positive talking points for future job interviews and develop self-confidence. We believe this opportunity will complement their academic studies and potentially give them an edge in future employment applications.

We will be using a platform called Unifrog to facilitate this work experience opportunity for the students. This platform is the same one being used by the students for their DRIVE work in tutor time, where they are researching potential destinations for after Year 11. Students will have until Friday, 27th March 2026, to find a work experience placement. They will be supported in doing so by staff at Sandhurst School, the Unifrog platform and parents.

Once a placement has been found and logged on the Unifrog system, we will complete all required employment checks to ensure that it is safe and appropriate. We will also offer additional support to students who are finding it difficult to secure a placement, as this should be an opportunity for all students in Year 10. Unifrog offers a virtual work experience option in school, which will be used for students if they are unable to find a placement. However, we feel that this should be a last resort, as it does not give students the same experience.
