Curriculum Aims
The study of English facilitates the growth of an individual, both on a personal, moral and empathetic basis. As well as developing an understanding of their own role in the wider world, it invites them to be a part of a living, cultural, ever changing environment they are integral to; allowing them to cross historical and cultural boundaries. English enables them to become critical thinkers, able to evaluate the spoken and written word, to communicate their thoughts and feelings in a precise manner, to express their creativity and give voice to their motivations and interpretations as they grow and adapt to the world around them.
English encourages independence and adaptability enabling our students to be effective researchers, great communicators and active, lifelong learners.
