Head of Department: Mr Marshall

The Sandhurst School Geography Department consists of several specialist geographers who all share a common goal of making geography relevant, interesting and stimulating to learners.
Based in three state of the art classrooms, students regularly have interesting learning experiences through interactive whiteboard activities; model-making; group work; discussion; debate and independent work. The wider school environment is often used for field studies and investigations into the local area. Students have opportunities to visit areas around the country to develop their knowledge and understanding of patterns and processes in an area they are unfamiliar with. The department is also fortunate to have regular access to laptops and ICT facilities to enable learners to develop geographical skills in research, interpretation, data presentation and graph analysis - all valuable skills in the modern business world.
