SCHOOL IS ABOUT MORE THAN JUST WHAT HAPPENS IN THE CLASSROOM
At Sandhurst School we are committed to providing a rich and diverse range of activities which expand the horizons of our students.
All students are actively encouraged to pursue and develop their individual talents and passions through participation in the range of wider curriculum activities available. A variety of sports teams for all ages train and compete regularly at district, county and national level, making us of our excellent sports facilities. Annual public speaking competitions are held and the winners go on to compete, with great success, in national competitions. Creative talents flourish within our school: there are numerous music clubs and ensembles, regular concerts, outstanding drama productions and visual art on display around the school.
There is a proactive Student Council comprising members from every year group and led by the Sixth Form. A peer mentoring team provides support and advice to students with particular concerns and lots of students make an active contribution to improving the school environment on the regular weekend ‘make a difference’ days.
Sixth Form students play a unique and valuable role in the school, contributing actively to the wider life of the school community. They demonstrate leadership and motivation arranging and running events for younger students. Senior prefects and the Head Boy and Head Girl host the school’s junior and senior Celebration of Success evenings. House sports captains play a key role in organising and running tournaments and competitions for the whole school.
