In order to enable every student to achieve success we provide tailored support for individuals. Our Gifted, Able and Talented programme provides a rich and challenging extension to the curriculum for students with particular strengths, whilst those students with learning difficulties are nurtured so that they too can fulfil their potential.
We take an interest in students as individuals even before they start with us: we liaise closely with primary schools to ensure that we give each student the best possible start to their time at Sandhurst School Students quickly become confident members of the school community.
Our comprehensive academic monitoring, based on rigorous assessment, allows the tutor, student and parents to have a clear picture of progress across the curriculum.
At various points, students have opportunities to make decisions about the courses they study and we use our knowledge of individuals to guide students at these crucial times. Staff support and encourage students to become responsible, independent learners.
In the Sixth Form, specialist staff deliver a structured programme of tutorials engaging each student in fulfilling their potential in their chosen specialist areas and helping them prepare for higher education or employment.
