WHETHER DEVELOPING EXISTING INTERESTS AND PASSIONS OR OPENING MINDS TO NEW POSSIBILITIES. OUR CURRICULUM AIMS TO INSPIRE IN STUDENTS A LOVE OF LEARNING.
We take great pride in the success of our pastoral system and in the excellent relationships that exist between students and staff at Sandhurst School.
Sandhurst School is divided into four Houses: Bailey, Gemini, Romer and Young. The Heads of House lead teams of tutors to provide students with an outstanding framework of care and support. To ensure continuity during a period of great change, students remain in the same tutor group throughout their time at school. Strong bonds are quickly formed between members of the tutor group and, due to the House system, students also get to know students in other year groups. As a result, our students demonstrate excellent care for one another across the school as a whole.
The tutor plays a vital role in supporting and encouraging each individual and is the first point of contact between school and home. Daily tutor periods allow tutors to monitor the progress and well-being of students and to provide individuals and the mentoring, support and guidance they need to thrive.
Within tutor groups, students experience a dynamic programme of Personal, Social, Health, Careers and Citizenship education. This structure curriculum focuses on important life skills and makes a valuable contribution to each individual’s personal development.
