Our highly professional and dedicated staff work with great enthusiasm to ensure that lessons are interesting and engaging. Central to effective learning is excellent teaching. Staff receive regular training to ensure that students benefit from a wide variety of styles of teaching and learning. The school’s extensive ICT facilities, including our digital campus, are used to great effect in preparing students for life in a technologically advanced world.
Enrichment days provide exciting and valuable experiences, developing skills that help students to thrive as successful learners throughout life. Important learning also takes place outside of the classroom. Throughout the year, students have many opportunities to take part in education visits, fieldwork, exchanges and competitions arranged by the school.
Science and mathematics play a valuable role in helping students understand the complex world in which we live and our specialist status enables us to enrich students’ experiences across the whole school curriculum. Throughout the school, students benefit from the excellent science resources, conducting experiments and enjoying practical demonstrations. All students are given the opportunity to study biology, chemistry and physics as separate subjects at GCSE and A level.
