Sandhurst School is celebrating the fantastic achievements of our Year 11 students. The year group’s examination successes have set a new high benchmark for future year groups to surpass. Both the new 9-4 English and maths pass rate and the percentage of students securing five or more qualifications including English and maths have risen for the third year in a row. Over two thirds of our students achieved this gold standard of 5 passes at grades A*-C including English and Mathematics.
67% of our Year 11 students achieved Standard passes in both of the new (and more challenging) English and mathematics GCSE qualifications. With almost one in three of all grades being awarded at the top grades (9-6 or A*-B). Alongside these benchmark statistics we are very proud of all the students in this year group who have made fantastic individual progress whilst at Sandhurst School.
Students who achieved outstanding results include Hollie Young who achieved grade 9s in her Maths and English GCSEs, five A*s and and A grade, Marie Halliday achieved a grade 9 in Maths, 8 in English and 6 other A and A* grades. Oliver Dawson achieved a grade 9 in Maths, 6 in English, four A* and 2 A grades and Laila Den Ousden achieved grade 9 in Maths, 8 in English Literature and seven A* grades. Owen Evans, in addition to Grade 9 in maths and 6 in English and seven other A and A* grades, also achieved a pass in a Level 3 Free Standing Maths Algebra qualification, Jake Newcomb achieved grade 8 in maths, 6 in English and seven other A and A* grades..
The Deputy Headteacher, Justin Southwood, commented: ‘We are delighted with these results achieved by our Year 11 students. They worked hard in preparation for their examinations and truly deserve these great results. I am very proud of them and their achievements. I am also very grateful to the staff for their dedication and commitment and to the students’ families for their support. These results are a real credit to the students and demonstrate the strong sense of partnership at our school.’
